The remnants of an offshore hurricane presented the perfect opportunity to go sailing offshore in the Bay of Biscay, off Les Sables d'Ollone, France. A mixed doublehanded team (reflecting the Paris 20204 Olympic Games new offshore event) took to the big seas (8-12 footers) and big breeze (20 to 30+ knots) to push the J/99 to its limits. Lungo 9,94 metri fuori tutto, il nuovo J-99 è una barca per regate offshore molto versatile grazie ai suoi interni completi, dotati di due cabine, cucina, un bagno e un bel salone con tavolo centrale e due divani. La barca può essere scelta con uno e due timoni, mentre l’albero di alluminio permette un notevole risparmio. Un racer non estremo capace di portare in regata e divertire anche i meno esperti.

The 628.0nm race goes south and finishes at Hobart, Tasmania.Sweeping overall corrected time honors among the Doublehanders was Jules Hall and Jan ‘Clogs’ Scholten on the J/99 DISKO TROOPER- CONTENDER SAILCLOTH to gather the top prizes in Doublehanded IRC, ORC, and PHS Divisions. Remarkably, the J/99 DISKO TROOPER also won ORC Overall for the fleet (fully-crewed + doublehanders) by over 3 HOURS!This video was taken aboard their boat as the fly past the northern part of Tasmania. Experience and understand what it is like to sail offshore. The J/99 JAZZ was sailed by Rodney Johnstone and Clay Burkhalter from Stonington, CT to Bermuda to help "rescue" a friends 65 ft sailboat.
